A lavishly photographed tour of America's hospices is based on the spring 1996 exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and includes works that portray the bond between patients and caregivers.

Hospice Foundation in collaboration with the Corcoran Gallery of Art and sponsored by Warner-Lambert, the project was designed to demystify hospice care and foster public dialogue about death and dying. 

 

Project Overview

  • Participating Artists: The inquiry features the work of five internationally acclaimed photographers: Jim Goldberg, Nan Goldin, Sally Mann, Jack Radcliffe, and Kathy Vargas.
  • Themes: The imagery focuses on the emotional and spiritual landscape of terminal illness, highlighting connection, dignity, comfort, and the bond between patients and caregivers.

 

Een rijk gefotografeerde rondreis langs Amerikaanse hospices is gebaseerd op de tentoonstelling van het voorjaar van 1996 in de Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. en omvat werken die de band tussen patiënten en zorgverleners weergeven.

Het project, uitgevoerd door de Hospice Foundation in samenwerking met de Corcoran Gallery of Art en gesponsord door Warner-Lambert, is ontworpen om hospicezorg toegankelijker te maken en het publieke debat over dood en sterven te bevorderen.
